Black Swan Boutique founder with her handsome Cowboy

Our story began as a true fairytale ... I met my handsome Cowboy for the first time when he traveled over eight hours one way for our blind date in March 2016.  Our mutual friends had originally planned to introduce us during a Cattlemen's Ball on Valentine's Day, though fate had other plans.  We pivoted (for those who LOVE F.R.I.E.N.D.S) and began communicating via email, modern day love letters.  I felt an immediate connection as he inspired me to follow my dreams and even prayed for my family as we were experiencing challenging times.

On Saturday, March 12, 2016, my thoughtful Cowboy planned several "mini" dates for us in a town he had never visited before our date!  The second he stepped out of his vehicle, I knew this man would be mine!  It was perfect!

Throughout the spring and summer, my handsome Cowboy was quite persistent and motivated me to finally follow my dreams of owning a little boutique!  I officially launched my online store on October 1, 2016!

My hometown of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, quickly became a popular tourist attraction thanks to a food blogger and local TV personality.  A local flower shop expanded and welcomed me into their boutique mall family with a prime location (in the front of the store) from November 2016 through December 2017!

My heart shattered when my handsome Cowboy grew his angel wings on January 8, 2017, in a car accident.  I still cannot believe he is gone as I feel his presence with me everyday through little signs, like our song on the radio or a cardinal landing nearby.  My heart will never be the same as my handsome Cowboy was my soulmate.  He even mentioned marriage about two months after our blind date!

After much prayer and meditation, I officially quit my full-time corporate job in August 2017.  I took time to heal my heart and for my mind to wrap around my new reality. I moved into a local boutique mall in northwest Oklahoma City and a second location inside my mentor and cousin's boutique mall in Blanchard, Oklahoma, in January 2018.  I remained at the NW OKC boutique mall until September 2018 when I felt compelled to open my own brick-and-mortar.  I kept my second location for another year.

I officially welcomed customers to my original storefront in the Nichols Hills Plaza on Monday, October 29, 2018!  I relocated to a smaller space within the plaza during the mandatory lockdown.  I remained in the Plaza for just shy of three years until I transitioned to a much larger space closer to home in October 2020 where I currently reside.

Over the past five years, Black Swan Boutique has become my home away from home. I have poured my heart and soul into this boutique as it is a constant reminder of my handsome Cowboy and his enduring love and support for me to pursue my dreams.  I have truly loved meeting new friends and getting to know my customers.  This little storefront has permitted me to share the Gospel and pray for my customers, store neighbors, and our community.  We continue to give back to our community through volunteerism and charitable donations.

Thank you all to my loyal customers for your continued support and love throughout the years!  Even though times are tough, especially now, we are persevering and pushing towards our future!  When you shop my small business, you are truly supporting a dream!  From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!  I am forever grateful and blessed by such compassionate and loyal customers that have become friends and family!
